Taraba State Governor Create Four more Chiefdoms Says traditional institution reforms targets grassroots development.
Governor Darius Ishaku says his administration’s reforms in the traditional institution is to give all ethnic groups in the state a sense of identity, and not to balkanize the State into ethnic blocks.
The Governor was speaking at a ceremony for the presentation of staff of office to four newly appointed traditional rulers in the State.
The creation of new chiefdoms by the Taraba State Government targets to give all ethnic extractions in the State a sense of identity, and to also correct the mistakes of the past.
Governor Darius Ishaku believes that the created traditional stools will be links in bringing governance closer to the people.
He says the reforms in the traditional institution is the yearnings of the majority out of the need to sustain their values and culture.
The Governor presented staff of office to four newly appointed traditional rulers.

The State’s Permanent Secretary Bureau for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs Bello Yero says Taraba State Governor has over the years shown high regards for the traditional institution, and this has eased grassroots development.
The newly appointed traditional rulers were cautioned against indiscriminate allocation of lands to strangers in the State, a situation that has over the years resulted into boundary conflicts.
